Songsweeper is a new project made by me (Martin Barker). It is a way to track listening across any source on any device.
Why did you make this?
I made songsweeper because of my dissatisfaction with the current landscape of music listening history analysis. Currently if you want good analysis on your listening history, you need to use one source exclusively, like Spotify. This isn’t a good representation of one’s listening history, since there are different songs available on different platforms. To get accurate analysis you need to be able to track your entire listening history across any platform and any device, which is why I made songsweeper.
How does it work?
There are three elements, a chrome extension, android application, and this website. The chrome extension will track your web browser listening history, such as for listening to music on YouTube, Soundcloud, Spotify, or some other online source available in your browser. The android application will track your music listening history on your phone. Once tracked you can send the data to your playlist, which will be displayed in your playlist page on this site.Once you have plays tracked in your playlist, you can generate analysis based on your music listening history, such as viewing a report of your listening habits and genre changes over time.
What new features will be added?
